Swiss film fest to host ‘6.5 Per Meter’

‘6.5 Per Meter’ is set to compete at the 15th Zurich Film Festival.

Director Saeed Roustaee’s blockbuster film ‘6.5 Per Meter’ unveiled as 'Just 6.5' in Venice fest is set to take part at Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland.

Following the announcement of the contestants for the festival’s 2019 event, Roustaee’s second feature film will be competing with 13 other films from around the world for the Golden Eye Award at the festival’s International Feature Film competition.

Produced by Jamal Sadatian, the award-winning thriller experienced its first international appearance last week at the Horizon’s competition of the 76th Venice International Film Festival in Italy.

‘6.5 Per Meter’ is a story about a veteran narcotics officer and his team who search every corner of the capital as they hunt down the city’s largest drug kingpin and the complications involved in their mission.

Internationally acclaimed actor Peyman Maadi is joined by Navid Mohammadzadeh, Amir Jadidi, Parinaz Izadyar, and Farhad Aslani in making up the film’s main cast.

Roustaee’s film will be screened in four time slots beginning Thursday, September 26, with the director scheduled to attend the final two screenings on Thursday, October 3 and Saturday, October 5.

The jury panel for this year’s competitions will be headed by American filmmaker Oliver Stone.

Founded in 2005, the Zurich Film Festival is aimed at providing a platform for the world’s most promising filmmakers, while promoting exchanges between the film industry, emerging directors, and the public.

The 15th annual event which will host more than 170 films from 58 countries is scheduled for September 26 – October 6, 2019.
